RG Micropaleontology

The Research Group Micropaleontology is a research group closely tied to the Foraminifera.eu project Hamburg.

The aim of the research group is to provide the broadest possible information and communication platform for experts, students, doctoral candidates and qualified amateurs, as well as to act as a point of contact and improve the public perception of this broad scientific field. Discussion forums and focal point colloquia at conferences are just as much a part of this as the provision of information via newsletters, courses on special groups of microorganisms or working techniques and the very important public relations work (exhibitions, lectures etc.) in schools, institutions and museums.

We would like to encourage colleagues and friends interested in micropaleontology to join the working group! Here you can download our flyer [German].

For this purpose we are looking for additional active research group members. Please contact the speakers. A short email with your name, title, institutional affiliation, email address, postal address and information about your professional focus is sufficient. We will then contact you.

Activities of the working group

  • Organization of an independent micro-paleontological symposium at the annual meetings of the Paläontologische Gesellschaft.
  • Conception of exhibitions on microfossils & microorganisms.
  • Creation of a database of interested team members..
  • Quarterly publication of a newsletter of the research group.
