The working group Public Relations was founded in 2009. The aim of the working group is to jointly develop measures, to inform the public about paleontological topics and to highlight the importance of paleontology for public and scientific concerns.
In particular, the exchange of information between professional and amateur paleontologists will be improved through joint activities. At the meetings of the working group, which usually take place during the annual conference, short lectures are given on the various activities and the respective successes are discussed among each other.
All members and non-members are invited to contribute to the working group and report on their own experiences with marketing and public relations.
Affiliated to the Public Relations Working Group are the Marketing & Public Relations Officers, whose tasks include the development and implementation of marketing measures for the Paläontologische Gesellschaft, content management of external enquiries and the website, and the development of representation measures for the Paläontologische Gesellschaft. This work is carried out on behalf of and in close cooperation with the managing board and the treasurer of the PalGes.
